With its unibody construction and well-equipped interior, the 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz is a truck for people who want a snazzy interior, room in the rear, and impressive fuel efficiency.

This isn’t your contractor’s full-size pickup truck with a gas-guzzling V8 engine. Instead, it’s a roomy truck on a crossover frame for people who like the benefits of cargo space, but without the fuel expenses.

Full-Efficient Performance

The 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz performance features include a pair of powertrains. The SE and SEL trims come with a standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 191 horsepower. The top two trims – the SEL Premium and Limited – come with a turbocharged version of the four-cylinder engine. The upgraded engine delivers 281 horsepower and has a performance-based dual-clutch eight-speed automatic transmission.

Drivers can choose their 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz configurations based on the engine. The standard engine with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, while the turbocharged model only comes with all-wheel drive.

The Santa Cruz has impressive handling that doesn’t feel like a pickup truck. With its unibody construction, it negotiates turns with ease and nimbly handles bumps in the road. It’s also incredibly easy to park, as it doesn’t have a massive truck bed behind it. Drivers generally don’t choose a compact pickup truck for its towing capacity, but when equipped appropriately, the Santa Cruz provides enough strength to tow a small trailer or outdoor toys. With the turbocharged engine and all-wheel drive, the truck can manage up to 5,000 pounds, while the other 2022 Santa Cruz configurations can tow up to 3,500 pounds.

The driver-assistive features affect the performance of the 2022 Santa Cruz. All trims levels come standard with a Rear View Camera, Forward Collision Warning with Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, Automatic High Beams, and Driver Alert Detection. Upgraded trims have more features like Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Centering for a semi-autonomous experience.

Drivers also enjoy the impressive infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and steering-wheel-mounted controls. The Limited models come standard with a Bose Premium Audio System and Dual Climate Controls.
